As of right now what we will have to do is just change the appearance of the player into a Dragon, Flying of the appropriate type, adjust their ac, attacks, damage, and hitpoints a fair amount to simulate their henchman and give the player widgets while riding that allow them to use the Dragon's claws/breath swoop ect.. What widgets they get and how powerful they are will be based on ride skill and dragon type/age. I've been doing thought experiments on this for a while and i'd like to make the dragons persistant henchman much like horses. The player can name the dragon and when mounted on the dragon the name above the mounted player will include the dragon's name. the player can give items to the dragon to store like a mount (just had that idea). Also the dragon can gain levels with the player. The
Dragon can assist in battles on land like a pet or familiar or be mounted and fly, using flight widgets to "jump" over impassable terrain or "climb" up a layer to a cloud like area. This could make dragon combat really interesting. The widgets are all super ez to make and i can script them in about 5 mins each most of them i can just use the script generator for. As far as rules for it all and how it will work with Dragonlances that can be toyed with till were all happy.
In time the CEP will have phenotypes for all races mounted on the dragons just like the horses. most likely they will do only chromatic and metalic dragons and possibly a prissy. That suits our needs just fine but it is moving slow and it ill not be out for final release of cep2.3 in july/august. (info from Barry_1066).
