I am moving this weekend and I am pretty sure there will be several hours our outage on Saturday and possibly extending to Sunday. Hopefully the outage will be only an hour or so, but my ISP is unsure of exact timing... and I am moving stuff as well.

SERVER MOVE SUCCESSFUL!

There were about 1/2 dozen or so players on today... sorry about that but have to disconnect for the move.  Server is up and running now and hopefully we will not have to take it down again this week.

Naw! MS... Come on BD, tell the truth! I bet, you've been using the drilling machine in your new home to get a shelf to the wall next to the server. The drill bit into the wall and suddently...

When you awoke, surprise, surprise, the server was down!  

I would have admitted if that happened! MS tries to be really nice to people who cannot grasp simple tasks like updating your software. So even if you turn off Automatic Updates the OS is 'nice' enough to reset that to the ON position when you shutdown and reboot!

Very annoying!

Sorry everyone - I have had some life things hit me recently and was not checking the server. Windows 10 now decides - annoyingly - when upgrades happen and there is no way to turn them off any more. Note to self - never run a server using Windows Products again.

Best of luck to Stefan and all - I may show up again one day - but I have way too much on the go right now for NWN.

There is an issue with skywings site (nwnlist.com) not updating to the new server name and such. It still displays my 1st test (server)... I already mailed them, but until now, no change.

Connecting via Neverrun also works. But due to nwnlist.com, it also displayes the (locked) server under Action. But it's NOT locked and you can enter the module!

The servervault has been ported and you have all your PCs, if you've visited the server before.

A BIG thanks to Breathless Dragon for having the module hosed in the past!
And another big THANK YOU to StilleVande (stillevande.com) for the offering to host (numerous) NWN server!

Winterhawk worked with the mod: He added a new quest and fixed some things. Thanks!

we're running into a hosting problem! StilleVande will stop hosting NWN-servers. Here is, what he wrote:

 I have been thinking about this for over 6 months, but I have come to the conclusion that I will no longer be hosting any more NWN Persistent Worlds.

When I started offering free NWN hosting almost 4 years ago, it was during the time in which NWN:EE wasn't released or known to the public. We have been straggling as a community for several years, without updates, an official serverlist page, etc.

NWN was holding on by a bare thread at that time. The only ones that played it were the hardcore players that stayed with us.

I myself, being in a position in which I had the capability to, decided I had to support the NWN community in any way.

I decided what I would do is to run NWN Persistent Worlds for people for free. This way, owners and players did not have to worry about the hosting portion, I would take care of it for them.

I believe in my heart that I stepped in when I did to make sure that one of the greatest games that was ever made never faded from obscurity.

Now that that is no longer a plausibility due NWN:EE being released, the support we so sorely needed was given to us again by BeamDog.

We now are getting system updates again, we have a new web-based server browser, custom content is now easy to hand out to players, building dedicated servers are now easier than before due to new dedicated server binaries, and dedicated server options, such as Docker, etc.

So, now that all of this has came to be, the feeling I had towards the waining of NWN is no longer viable. I now do not need to worry about the health of NWN.

It will now be here for another generation, and the game is in good hands.
I will officially bring down all of my servers on Feb 6th, 2020 (one month from now). If you are being hosted by me, start working with me to get all of your playrs PC's in the servervault and your databases. I can even assist helping you bring up your server wherever you go afterwards.

It has been a pleasure hosting for everyone the past several years, and may Lady Aribeth de Tylmarande always bless the path you take.

So, end will be Feb 6th, 2020 and we have to find a new solution for this...

I still have no access to the server machine...

StilleVandes deadline has been reached. DLCR is not up ATM and I haven't found a solution to the hosting problem, yet.

I can't host 24/7, don't have a static IP and my internet connection ist pretty low. So it doesn't really make sense.

And StilleVande still didn't reply to my contact tries to get the servervault and such. I do have backups, but they're a bit older...

I was able to get in contact with StilleVande. It seems, that I'll be able to get the latest files (servervault and such).
